Mukesh Khanna reveals why he never got married: ‘Not because I dislike it, but perhaps it’s not written in my destiny’ | Hindi Movie News

Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna, who is known for his iconic portrayal of Shaktimaan and Bhishma Pitamah, recently opened up about his views on marriage and why he chose to remain unmarried. In a recent interview, the actor shared his philosophical perspective on marriage, life, and the concept of soul relationships.“Marriage is an institution—a sacred bond,” he began. “I always believe that two souls become one in marriage. But nowadays, we treat marriage like a game with two dolls. No, sir. We are all souls playing roles in this dream of God. This is God’s dream, an illusion,” he told Mid-day. Delving deeper into his spiritual beliefs, Khanna explained, “When you come into this world, you are a soul. Being born into a particular family, like the Ambanis, doesn’t mean you have a deeper connection with your sibling beyond karma. A brother could simply be a soul placed in that family because of his karma.”Sonakshi Sinha Slams Mukesh Khanna for ‘Distasteful’ Comment on UpbringingThe actor also emphasized the changing dynamics of relationships in the modern world. “In today’s world, no son or daughter follows traditional expectations. Marriage, too, is written in destiny. Two souls come together in marriage, but each has a unique nature and karma. This is also an illusion. We often think of ourselves as invincible—like Sikandar, Shaktimaan, or even Ravan. But the truth is, we are nothing. We are simply inner souls.”Khanna revealed that his decision to remain unmarried was not due to a vow or any particular reason. “Even now, I choose not to marry—not because I dislike it, but perhaps because it’s not written in my destiny. It’s not because I’ve taken a Bhishma pratigya (vow of celibacy). Maybe I recited vows so strongly in my school functions that destiny decided my fate in this matter,” he said with a hint of humor. When asked if he ever wanted to marry someone, Khanna dismissed it as a private question. “No comment,” he said. “If someone asks me such questions in an interview, I simply avoid them.”
