A 45-year-old woman of Punjabi origin has been identified as the victim of a fatal stabbing in LaSalle, shocking the local community.The victim, Nancy Grewal of Windsor, who was known as a YouTuber, was attacked Tuesday night, police said.According to the LaSalle Police Service, officers and paramedics responded to a report of a stabbing shortly before 9:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Todd Lane. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found Grewal suffering from severe stab wounds.She was rushed to hospital by Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services, but later succumbed to her injuries, authorities confirmed.In a statement posted on social media Wednesday evening, police expressed condolences to the victim’s family and friends.“The LaSalle Police Service offers our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Ms. Grewal,” the statement read. “To ease public concern, investigators are viewing this as an isolated incident.”Police have not yet confirmed whether a suspect has been taken into custody.On Wednesday morning, investigators cordoned off two homes on Todd Lane between Canada Street and Bishop Street as part of the ongoing investigation. Multiple evidence markers were placed along a concrete walkway and on the stairs leading to the front door of one of the houses.Authorities also taped off a wooded area about one kilometre away on Todd Lane, near the walking trails by Herb Gray Parkway, as investigators searched for additional evidence.The fatal stabbing comes about two weeks after the region’s first homicide of 2026. On Feb. 18, a 44-year-old man with a gunshot wound was found unconscious in the parking lot of Windsor Regional Hospital’s Metropolitan campus. Despite life-saving efforts, he was later pronounced dead.Police said that case also had a LaSalle connection, with one suspect arrested the same day at a residence on Broderick Road in LaSalle.Investigators are urging anyone with information related to the LaSalle homicide to contact Det.
