
Oliver “Power” Grant, an original member of the seminal early 1990s hip-hop group the Wu-Tang Clan, has died, the New York City-based group said Wednesday.Grant was 52.”Rest in Power, Power,” the group said in an X post on Wednesday.Hot 97, an iconic New York radio station that played a notable role in the rise of hip hop, and Method Man both reported Grant’s passing on Tuesday. “Paradise my Brother safe Travels!!,” according to the rapper born Clifford Smith. “Bruh I am not ok.” It was not immediately known how Grant passed away.Grant’s death comes as Wu-Tang was named as a nominee for the 2026 class of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.They’re on a prestigious list that includes Luther Vandross, Shakira, Sade, Pink, Oasis, New Edition, Joy Division/New Order, Iron Maiden, INXS, Billy Idol, Lauryn Hill, Melissa Etheridge, Phil Collins, Mariah Carey, Jeff Buckley and Black Crowes.This is a developing story.
