Two persons, including a 65-year-old woman, were killed after being run over by a sport utility vehicle (SUV) following a dispute between two families at Purana Bazar in Sahnewal late at night.The deceased were identified as Bhupinder Sahota (25) and Balwinder Kaur (65).The police said a case under Section 103 of the BNS had been registered against the suspects. The bodies were handed over to the families after post-mortem examination.According to the complaint, the dispute arose between two neighbouring families over parking of a vehicle in front of a house gate.Rohit, brother of Bhupinder Sahota, alleged members of the other family repeatedly parked their vehicle in front of their house and played loud music, despite objections.On the night of the incident, the dispute escalated when the accused allegedly arrived in a Bolero vehicle.Rohit alleged that Jaswinder Singh, along with his brother Goldy, nephew Vishal, Jaspreet Singh and four-five unidentified persons, drove the vehicle into Bhupinder Sahota and Balwinder Kaur.After the incident, the injured were taken to the Ludhiana Civil Hospital, where doctors declared them “brought dead”.Investigating officer Randhir Singh said the police had registered a case against the accused on Rohit’s complaint.Search operations were underway and multiple police teams had been formed to arrest the suspects, he added.
