An unverified post, attributed to the alleged associates of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, surfaced on social media on Sunday, issuing a death threat to rapper-musician Badshah.Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, popularly known as Badshah, landed in controversy following the release of his new Haryanvi song “Tateeree”. He has been facing backlash due to “obscene lyrics” and “inappropriate visuals”, leading to an official police complaint against him and a summons from a state commission.The purported Facebook post alleged that the rapper tried to ruin the culture of Haryana.”Singer Badshah, you have tried to ruin the culture of Haryana. We earlier showed you a trailer in your club in 2024; next time we will shoot you in the head,” the post read.The unverified post referred to the explosion that occurred outside Badshah’s bar-cum-lounge in Chandigarh’s Sector 26 area in November 2024.On Friday, the Haryana State Commission for Women issued orders to arrest Badshah, after he failed to appear before the deadline in connection with the alleged objectionable lyrics and visuals in his recently released music video.Badshah had recently uploaded a video on his official Instagram handle, apologising if anyone’s sentiments were hurt by his latest song.The rapper-musician had been asked to appear before on March 13 for the song “in which Haryana daughters have been insulted with inappropriate words and language”.An FIR in this regard has already been registered in Panchkula and Jind in connection with his song. Panchkula police had also recently initiated the process to issue a look-out circular against Badshah to prevent him from leaving the country.Panchkula police had also issued a formal notice directing Badshah to appear before them immediately. Several police teams have been constituted to ensure his arrest and are conducting continuous raids at various possible locations, the Haryana Police had said in a statement on Saturday.The Panchkula police on March 6 registered an FIR under various provisions of law based on a complaint lodged by a Panchkula resident, alleging the use of objectionable lyrics and visuals in Badshah’s recently released music video.Sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986, and BNS Section 296 (obscene acts and songs) have been slapped against the rapper.
