Protesters attack Sheikh Mujibur Rahman memorial museum in Dhaka




DHAKA: The Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum in Dhaka was attacked again by a group called ’24-er Biplobi Chhatra Janata’ on Wednesday. The protest began around 8pm when demonstrators entered the premises and vandalised the museum. They were chanting slogans against Awami League.Referencing a scheduled Facebook Live speech by Sheikh Hasina, Hasnat Abdullah, convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, posted on Facebook around 7pm: “Tonight, Bangladesh will be free from the shrine of fascism.” In her speech, Hasina said, “You can destroy a building but you can’t erase history.” She was optimism that Bangladesh would emerge stronger with the spirit of the Liberation War.
