Punjab will conduct a mock drill under ‘Operation Shield’ in the state’s border districts. Punjab Home Guards and Commandant General, Special DGP Sanjeev Kalra, have issued the orders. According to the orders, the mock drill is being conducted on the directives of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Earlier, Punjab had not followed the MHA’s orders to conduct a mock drill on May 29, citing training issues with the civil defence staff. However, the state government has now agreed to comply with the MHA’s orders and conduct the drill. The exercise will include safety measures during a simulated air raid.
