A young social media influencer has been booked for allegedly inciting communal tension through social media posts in the Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan. A case has been registered against Riddhima Sharma at the Gogamedi police station.According to the complaint, Sharma recorded videos inside the premises of the Gogamedi temple and uploaded them on social media platforms with objectionable remarks. The incident reportedly took place on January 25, when she entered the temple along with 10–15 boys.Deliberately spreading hatred between the Hindu and Muslim communities, Sharma also abused the Muslim priests associated with the temple.Complainant Sanjay, alias Mohar Singh Swami, a local lawyer who was present at the spot, alleged that he tried to intervene and reason with Sharma to prevent any communal unrest. However, she allegedly became aggressive and abused him, following which the boys accompanying her reportedly assaulted him.After the incident, Sharma allegedly uploaded a video on her Facebook account in which she challenged that Muslims be expelled from the temple.Police inspector Chandrakala, who is leading the investigation, said efforts are underway to trace the accused, and her location is being tracked using the IP addresses linked to her social media accounts.Police further stated that a review of Sharma’s social media posts revealed that she had posted offensive and inflammatory content related to other locations as well.
