A controversy erupted today after a video of AAP MLA from Nabha, Gurdev Singh Dev Mann, purportedly showing him kicking and pushing an elderly man off a stage went viral on social media.Opposition parties, including the Congress, wasted no time in sharing the clip online and criticising the MLA.The incident reportedly took place during a function in Ludhiana’s Dugri area on March 8, organised to pay tributes to Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot Kaur on their 38th death anniversary. Clarifying the matter today, Dev Mann said the man seen in the video was under the influence of liquor and repeatedly climbed onto the stage, attempting to sing despite being asked to step down. “I have huge respect for elders and can never disrespect them. The incident is being projected in a bad light and misused by political parties for cheap gains,” he stated.
