Mohali-based 11-year-old equestrian Samyra Bhambra has won a bronze medal at the ongoing Delhi Horse Show 2026.Competing in the highly competitive Rising Star Dressage event, Samyra finished on the podium against 28 of India’s leading young riders.She trains rigorously under expert guidance at the Chandigarh Horse Riders Society and said the medal is a dream come true and a motivation to aim higher.“This medal is a dream come true and motivates me to aim higher,” said Samyra.In another sporting achievement for the region, Mohali-based Minerva Academy finished fifth at the Mediterranean International Cup (MIC) U-15.Drawn into what was described as the “group of death”, Minerva faced elite European opposition from the outset but topped their group with a perfect nine points.The team defeated Canadian side Braves d’Ahuntsic 4-0, followed by a 6-0 win over Liverpool FC Juniors.In the quarterfinal, Minerva went down 1-2 to UE Figueres. Raj Singh Wahengbam emerged among the tournament’s top scorers, sharing the spotlight with leading talents from top European academies.
