Indian MMA icon Sangram Singh created history in Buenos Aires, becoming the first Indian to win an MMA bout on Argentine soil. He delivered a dominant performance, defeating French fighter Florian Coudier in just 1 minute and 45 seconds at a packed Tigre Sports Club stadium. With this win, Sangram completes a hat-trick of MMA victories, following earlier wins in Tbilisi and Amsterdam. His wrestling background played a decisive role, allowing him to control the bout and secure a swift submission.Reacting after the win, Sangram Singh, Indian professional wrestler and actor said, “I either win or I learn. Passion has no age. This victory fulfills my dream of becoming the first Indian to win an MMA fight in Argentina.”He also thanked his long-time coach Bhupesh and acknowledged the support he received from across India and beyond. The lead-up to the fight was particularly challenging, with Sangram weighing 600 grams over the limit just two days prior. Through intense discipline and training, he successfully made weight in the 83 kg category despite significant physical and mental pressure. The bout saw early exchanges from both fighters, but Sangram’s wrestling instincts proved decisive. Sangram’s victory across three continents reflects the growing readiness of Indian combat sports athletes to compete and win at the international level.”Sangram credited his mental discipline and daily routine, including yoga and pranayama, as key contributors to his performance. He also urged young athletes to stay committed and consistent in their pursuits.
