So far, it has only been a rumour. But now it has been confirmed. Dhurandhar actress Sara Arjun will play Madhubala in a biopic on the screen legend which is being produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.Several other young hopefuls were considered. But finally after a meeting with the proposed biopic’s director, Jasmeet K Reen, Sara has been pencilled in for what promises to be the consummate biopic on an actress whom cinema lost in her prime, when she was just 36.A source close to the development says, “Bhansali felt Sara has the aura, gravitas and grace to play Madhubala. The idea is to introduce the legendary actress to the young generation which doesn’t know how much of an impact Madhubala made in such a short life.”Reen, known to have made Darlings with Alia Bhatt, was to earlier direct a biopic on poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi for producer Sanjay Bhansali. But that never happened.
