In the case of illegal sale of prime land belonging to Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib Patshahi Satvin, SAS Nagar, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has suspended the manager of the gurdwara with immediate effect.SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami, who was here today, has ordered legal action against the culprit, identified as Rajinder Singh.“Rajinder Singh, who has brought disrepute to the Sikh institution, has been suspended. If the involvement of any other individual is found, action would be initiated against him too,” he said.A row has erupted over the alleged sale of land measuring 1 bigha, 6 biswa, and 10 biswasi located in Saini Majra (Premgarh) village in IT City area (Sector 101) owned by Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib, Phase 8.The land was reportedly sold to various buyers for Rs 1.32 crore and the registration was done at the sub-registrar office, Mohali, on December 2 last year. Insiders said that if there had been an open auction, the same land could have fetched between Rs 15 to 20 crore.The issue surfaced when the dwellers of the village, along with SAD Mohali constituency in charge Parvinder Singh Sohana and SGPC member Paramjit Kaur Landran, raised the alarm and apprised the SGPC president about this fraudulent deal being executed at the instance of the gurdwara manager. A five-member committee has been formed for a detailed departmental inquiry.
