
Actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested in New Orleans after hitting two people outside of a Royal Street business early Tuesday morning amid Mardi Gras celebrations, according to police.The 39-year-old was allegedly kicked out of the business after causing a disturbance at the business, the New Orleans Police Department said. “Once removed from the building, the victim reported being struck by LaBeouf who used his closed fists on the victim several times,” police said in a news release. “The victims reported that LaBeouf left, but then came back, acting even more aggressive.”Multiple people attempted to hold him down and released him so he could leave, but LaBeouf allegedly hit the same victim with a closed fist to the upper body, police said. “LaBeouf then reportedly assaulted another person — punching him in the nose,” police said. “LaBeouf was again held down until police arrived.”The 39-year-old was taken to a hospital for treatment “of unknown injuries,” and was arrested upon release. He was charged with two counts of simple battery, according to police and online records. It is not clear what circumstances led to the incident. An attorney and a representative for LaBeouf did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
