Kanpur police have arrested Shivam Mishra, son of tobacco businessman KK Mishra, in connection with the high-profile Lamborghini crash that took place on VIP Road in Kanpur. The arrest was made four days after the incident, which had triggered widespread public attention due to the involvement of a luxury sports car and serious injuries to multiple people. The crash occurred when a Lamborghini Huracan, reportedly speeding, lost control and rammed into vehicles and pedestrians. Several people were injured and rushed to hospital. The luxury car was later seized by the police as part of the investigation.Soon after the accident, there was confusion over who was driving the car at the time of the crash. Police initially stated that Shivam Mishra was behind the wheel, citing CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts that allegedly showed him being pulled out of the driver’s seat. Based on this evidence, he was named the main accused in the case. However, Mishra’s family and lawyer contested the claim, saying that a driver named Mohan was driving the car. They also claimed that Shivam Mishra had suffered a medical episode, which led to the accident. The alleged driver later attempted to surrender in court, but his plea was rejected. After reviewing the evidence, police maintained that Shivam Mishra was responsible for the crash and proceeded with his arrest. He has been booked under relevant sections related to rash and negligent driving causing injury.
