In a joint operation, the Counter Intelligence Wing of the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), Fazilka, and the Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a huge consignment of arms, ammunition and contraband from the Indo-Pak border in Fazilka district in the wee hours of Thursday following an exchange of fire between BSF personnel and Pakistani intruders near village Gatti No. 3.According to sources, after the brief exchange of fire, the intruders managed to flee back across the border, leaving the consignment behind in Indian territory.Security forces immediately launched a search operation in the area and recovered 21 Pakistani-made pistols, 313 live cartridges, 39 magazines and 2.160 kg heroin from near the site of the firing.A thorough search of the surrounding areas is being carried out.Assistant Inspector General, SSOC Fazilka, will hold a press conference in this regard at 3 pm on Thursday.
