Launching a scathing attack on the ruling AAP government, Shiromani Akali Dal president Singh Badal has alleged large-scale corruption, political interference in policing and administrative failure in Punjab.Talking to The Tribune, he alleged that PPCC president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring was opposing a CBI probe into a district manager’s death, apprehending that an earlier case involving a man named Kataria, who allegedly accused Warring of mental harassment in a suicide note, might also be reopened. He further claimed that CM Bhagwant Mann had “threatened” Warring with opening his files if he pursued the demand, forcing him to backtrack.Addressing a “Punjab Bachao” rally organised by Gurpreet Singh Raju Khanna in Amloh, Badal said ministers and MLAs were “looting the state” to benefit “Delhi bosses”. He claimed political pressure was weakening action against drug traders and gangsterism, alleging that arrested persons were later freed under influence.Targeting Mann, he said the CM was “functioning like a driver” of AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal, urging voters to “choose a capable Chief Minister”.Badal promised large-scale industrialisation with 75 per cent jobs for Punjabis in private sector and 100 per cent in government jobs, if SAD was voted to power.
