Giani Ranjit Singh Gauhar, former Jathedar of Takht Patna Sahib, has requested Giani Kuldip Singh Gargaj, officiating Jathedar of the Akal Takht, to summon Giani Raghbir Singh and Giani Harpreet Singh over their remarks.In a memorandum to the Akal Takht secretariat, he claimed that during their tenure, these former Jathedars never noticed any mistake in the SGPC management, but when they were removed from their posts, they claimed its structure had been “destroyed”.Levelling serious allegations against Golden Temple head granthi Giani Raghbir Singh and Giani Harpreet Singh, former Jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib, he claimed that “they did not deposit the donations offered by the sangat in the Guru’s golak.He said Giani Raghbir Singh did not recite Rehras Sahib as the head granthi, never performed the service of Katha at Diwan Hall Manji Sahib, nor did he ever perform Palki Sahib service. Even in such circumstances, the SGPC provided all facilities to Giani Raghbir Singh.Giani Gauhar said Giani Raghbir Singh should step down from his post and inform how much money he collected from the sangat abroad and how much of it was deposited in the Dharam Prachar office of the SGPC.He appealed to Sikh organisations to form a joint commission to investigate Giani Raghbir Singh’s tenure so that the truth could come out. He said the SGPC being the apex organisation of the Sikhs, levelling baseless allegations against it, amounted to denigrating the image of the institution.He recalled that Giani Harpreet Singh had himself favoured dissolving various Akali Dals to form one Akali Dal and uniting the Panthic power on December 2, 2024. Later, he formed a new faction of Akali Dal, further diminishing the power of Sikhs.
