Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt-starrer song “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” from the Kannada film KD – The Devil has been receiving constant and massive backlash due to its lewd lyrics. The song was uploaded by Anand Audio in multiple languages—Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada—on YouTube on Monday. However, it has now been taken down from the platform.Meanwhile, Nora Fatehi today took to her Instagram to break her silence on the controversy surrounding the song. She captioned the clip, “I would hate for anyone to think I endorse this.. thank you for the backlash because of this pressure the filmmakers have luckily taken it down.”Nora began by saying, “Hear me out. I shot the song 3 years ago in a language called kannada. And I said yes because it was part of big film with a bid icon— Sanjay Dutt—who would say NO to work with him.”Fatehi went on to say, “When I’m on set shooting, I’m relying on filmmakers to translate the song and that’s what I go by.” “When the Hindi version was created with these lyrics, I had not idea about it. No permission or approval was taken from me.””They used unflattering photos of me and the one with Sanjay Dutt is AI-generated. I had flagged it to the Director and told them it was not gonna be ok.” “The filmmakers and content creators must be held responsible.”She ended the video by saying, “I will be more careful and thank you for the backlash.”Mixed reactions: “You knew what the song is all about, the theme, what you’re suppose to do in a song, and that will cater to the male gaze. Which you have been doing since many years. Before going in front of the camera the director explains you everything which helps you to prepare for the song and emote accordingly,” a user commented.Another reacted, “Babe this is why we need feminism.” A third wrote, “She’s taken the responsibility and the accountability already which is a big deal and shows her artistic integrity above all.”
