The police on Sunday claimed to have arrested three associates of the Goldy Brar gang and seized an illegal foreign-made pistol along with five live cartridges.DSP (Investigation) Avtar Singh said those arrested were Jagdeep Kumar, alias Deepu, and Sunny Singh, both residents of Bajigar Basti in Faridkot, and Chetan Gharu, alias Chetu, a resident of Ferozepur.Police teams from the CIA Staff apprehended Jagdeep and Chetan during checking at the New Grain Market, Faridkot. A Glock 9 mm pistol, a magazine and five live cartridges were seized from their possession. Acting on their disclosure, the police later arrested Sunny Singh near the Jahaj Ground area.During interrogation, the accused revealed that the illegal weapon had been supplied to them for further distribution. The police have also nominated two more suspects in the case and are investigating backward and forward links to bust the entire network.A case under various sections of the Arms Act has been registered at City Police Station in Faridkot.The police further revealed that Chetan Gharu was already declared a proclaimed offender in a 2023 murder case registered in Ferozepur.
