Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed a rally in Kolkata and said the ruling Trinamool Congress was shielding infiltrators and that its days were numbered.“Politics of intimidation and fear has become a weapon for the TMC. Voters are threatened during elections, critics of the government are threatened, the media is threatened and the Opposition is threatened. The entire country should know the atmosphere of fear that they want to create in Bengal,” Modi said while addressing crowds at the historic Brigade Parade Ground.He said such politics would not continue for long.“The days of TMC’s hooliganism are coming to an end. The countdown for the departure of the TMC government has begun. After the formation of a BJP government in Bengal, everyone will be held accountable,” the PM announced in Kolkata.He added that the TMC had been protecting illegals and was resisting citizenship certificates to Hindu refugees because they were not its vote banks.Raising concerns about the political atmosphere in the state, the Prime Minister said, “The dangerous demographic changes in Bengal have made the state insecure. Today, open threats are being made. It is being said that people of a particular community will come together to eliminate others. Sitting in constitutional positions, such threats are being issued against crores of Bengalis. I want to ask -who are these people who claim they can eliminate crores of citizens at the signal of the TMC government?” asked Modi.He said infiltration in many parts had transformed Hindu dominated areas into Hindu minority areas.“Due to infiltration, Bengal’s ‘roti, beti and mati’ are under threat. Jobs of local people are being snatched away, the security of our daughters is at risk and illegal encroachments are taking place. I assure the mothers and sisters of Bengal that under a BJP government, women will be safe and criminals will be behind bars,” the PM said.He said first the Congress, then the Communists and now the TMC kept coming one after another, filling their pockets while development work in Bengal remained stalled.He also gave a call: “Paltano Dorkaar, Chai BJP Sorkaar.” (Change is imminent).
