US President Donald Trump on Saturday sought the help of several countries, including China, UK and France, in keeping open the Strait of Hormuz, which is a vital shipping line.Trump said many countries, especially those affected by Iran’s attempted closure of the Strait of Hormuz, would be sending war ships, in conjunction with the US to keep the Strait open and safe. He then went on to say that he hoped that China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK and others that were affected by this artificial constraint would send their ships to the area so that the strait would no longer be a threat posed by Iran.The US, he claimed, had already destroyed 100 percent of Iran’s military capability, but it was easy for them to send a drone or two, drop a mine, or deliver a close range missile somewhere along, or in, this waterway, no matter how badly defeated they were. He then threatened that the US would be bombing the hell out of the shoreline, and continually shooting Iranian boats and ships out of the water. “One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait open, safe and free.”Earlier in the day, the US Central Command said its forces executed a large-scale precision strike on Kharg Island in Iran. The strike destroyed naval mine storage facilities, missile storage bunkers, and multiple other military sites. The US forces successfully struck more than 90 Iranian military targets on the island, while preserving the oil infrastructure.Five US planes hit on Saudi baseMeanwhile, Iran struck and damaged five US air force refuelling planes on the ground at Saudi Arabia’s Prince Sultan Air Base, The Wall Street Journal reported. “The tankers were were damaged but not completely destroyed,” it said.
