Two Indian students tragically lost their lives after a devastating house fire in Croydon, South London, while a third student from the same residence remains hospitalised with injuries.The incident occurred on February 23 at a rented house where three Indian students were staying.Kamineni Sai Srikar, 26, from Nizamabad in Telangana, was among those severely affected. He was rescued and taken to Croydon University Hospital along with his two roommates.After battling critical injuries for several days, Srikar was declared brain-dead and later confirmed dead by doctors. His grieving family in Nizamabad has urged authorities to expedite arrangements to bring his body back to India.Another victim, 28-year-old Ganti Abhishek from Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh, died at the scene on the night of the fire due to smoke inhalation.The third student managed to escape the burning house but sustained injuries and continues to receive treatment at the hospital.Srikar had completed his engineering education in Hyderabad before moving to London to pursue a Master’s degree in science.The tragic incident has left their families and the Indian community in shock. Local authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
