Vijaysai Reddy announced his retirement from politics on Friday. In a post on social media platform X, he revealed his decision to resign from the Rajya Sabha and clarified that he will not be joining any other political party.Reddy emphasised that his decision was entirely personal and not influenced by external pressures or ambitions.Acknowledging the support of the YS family, Reddy expressed his gratitude for their guidance over four decades and across three generations. He particularly thanked Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YS Bharati for their trust and opportunities.”I will forever be indebted to the YS family,” he wrote, adding a special prayer for YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s success and well-being.As a two-time Rajya Sabha MP, party general secretary, and parliamentary leader, Reddy highlighted his role in fostering relations between the Centre and the state to secure benefits for Andhra Pradesh. He extended thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah for their support during his tenure.Addressing his political relationships, Reddy maintained that while he had differences with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), there were no personal issues with its leader Chandrababu Naidu. He also affirmed his enduring friendship with Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan.Reddy announced that he plans to focus on agriculture post-retirement. He concluded his message by thanking the people of Andhra Pradesh, party workers, colleagues, and well-wishers who supported him throughout his political career.
