Grief gripped Nai Abadi on Sunday as the body of Vrindavan boat tragedy victim Manik Tandon was brought home, triggering an outpouring of sorrow among family members and residents.Tandon’s body was recovered by rescue teams in Vrindavan on Saturday.Scenes of anguish unfolded as his widowed mother, two sisters, and fiancée mourned his untimely death. The household, which was preparing for his wedding scheduled in September, was instead plunged into mourning. Family members said that a wedding venue had already been booked, and further preparations were to be completed upon his return from Vrindavan.The last rites were performed at the Shivpuri cremation ground on Indra Nagari Road, where a large number of people gathered to pay their final respects.Speaking on the occasion, Nar Sewa Narayan Sewa Samiti chief Raju Charaya described the incident as an irreparable loss not only for the family but for the entire city.Shashi Deva, in-charge of the Usha Devi Memorial Vaishno Mata Mandir in Nai Abadi, also expressed deep sorrow, stating that Tandon’s untimely death at the age of 25 was deeply distressing.
