Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal will personally appear before the Delhi High Court on Monday to argue why Judge Swarna Kanta Sharma should not hear the Delhi excise matter.Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and other senior AAP leaders discharged in the case by a Delhi court had earlier moved a recusal application, urging Sharma not to hear the CBI appeal against the discharge order of the lower court.Kejriwal and others had later also written to Delhi High Court Chief Justice Devendra Upadhyaya, requesting that the matter be transferred to some other bench rather than the single bench of Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma. The HC has, however, declined the request. Now, Kejriwal will argue the matter before the court of Justice Kanta and appear personally to say why he is requesting the judge’s recusal.AAP leaders had earlier said the case may not be heard impartially before the said bench.
