A woman in her 60s died shortly after takeoff on a British Airways flight from Hong Kong to London on Sunday, forcing passengers and crew to spend more than 13 hours onboard with her body.According to Fox News, the incident occurred on Flight BA32, when the woman suffered a medical emergency one hour after the Airbus A350-1000 departed Hong Kong.Despite the death, the pilots decided to continue the journey to London rather than returning to Hong Kong, as a passenger death is not typically classified as an emergency.Crew members initially considered placing the body in a lavotary, but this option was rejected. Instead, they wrapped the body and moved it to a rear gallery. However, the area had a heated floor, which developed a pungent smell and spread through the back of the cabin during the long-haul journey.Upon landing at London’s Heathrow Airport, police boarded the aircraft and asked all passengers to remain seated for around 45 minutes while they investigated.British Airways expressed condolences to the deceased passenger’s family, stating that all procedures were followed and support was being provided to both the family and crew.
