The State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Fazilka, in a joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF), arrested a woman and her son with 3.230 kg heroin near Mohammad Pira border village in Fazilka district.According to an FIR registered at the SSOC Fazilka police station, the arrests were made after the police received a specific tip-off. A naka was laid near the village, where the accused were intercepted. They were identified as Palo Bai and her son Gurwinder Singh, residents of Asafwala border village.During the search, the police sized three packets of heroin weighing 3.230 kg from them on Tuesday evening.Sources said the consignment was suspected to have been smuggled from Pakistan using a drone. The accused were allegedly on their way to deliver the contraband when they were arrested.The accused have been booked under Sections 21(c) and 25 of the NDPS Act.
