Zeenat Aman who is known for her bold and unconventional roles in the 70s and 80s is an internet sensation now. She has a huge fan following amogst youngsters and is often seen sharing her thoughts through either her caption or interactive sessions. The ‘Don’ actress joined Reddit and had an ‘ask me anything’ session with fans. During this, she revealed that she was supposed to be a part of ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’.She was asked by a fan, “Hello Ma’am Is there a role which you regret giving up on?” She responded, “I have to say that I regret giving up the role I was offered in Amar Akbar Anthony. My negotiations with the director/producer (for whom I had just delivered a smash hit) fell through. I don’t regret holding my ground but I regret missing out on that role! It seemed such a fun project.’Amar Akbar Anthony’ starred Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Vinod Khanna, Parveen Babi, Neetu Kapoor and Shabana Azmi.The actress was also asked about the one film she regrets doing and she said, “In all honesty, I regret doing Jaanwar. It took eight years to make and by the end of it we were just exhausted! It was absolutely tedious to shoot in bits and bobs over so many years.”Another fan asked her about the struggles she faced during the 70s. The person asked, “Ma’am you were such a bold actress back in the day. as a teenager now accoridng to me women in the 70s were the ones in the family who did not speak a word and had no autonomy. But after looking at ur work I stood corrected. How tough did u feel and did people support you for going bold?” The actress answered, “I think the 70s were an interesting time and women were finding something of a voice both in the home and in the workplace. I didn’t see myself as tough, but I also didn’t see myself as a pushover, no matter what society or the media wanted to portray. There were many young women facing difficult times in the public eye at the time.”
