Three teens have been arrested in connection to an acid attack on six women in Jersey City last month, according to the Jersey City Department of Public Safety. Subscribe to read this story ad-freeGet unlimited access to ad-free articles and exclusive content.The women were splashed with sulfuric acid on June 15 when people on a moped targeted them in their car as they drove by, officials said.“All six victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries that included skin burns and peeling,” department spokesperson Kim Wallace Scalcione said.Three teens, 13, 14 and 15 years old, were arrested in connection with the incident, Scalcione said, without providing a date of their arrests. They each are accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing bodily injury and additional charges. The Department of Public Safety says the incident appears to have been targeted and “may have stemmed from an earlier dispute among a large group.”The department previously said that five women were injured in the attack, but clarified in an update that there are six victims, including three teens.One of the victims, a 21-year-old woman, was taken to a burn unit last month “to be treated for second-degree burns to her face and scalp,” according to Scalcione.The investigation is ongoing, officials said.
