Atma Singh (65), a resident of Gandiwind Dhattal village falling under Chohla Sahib police station, was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne men this afternoon. Gurpreet Singh, a relative of the deceased, said here today that Atma Singh was in his house when two men on a motorcycle called him outside.As soon as he came out, the armed men opened fire on him. A bullet hit Atma Singh in the forehead, which proved fatal. He was taken to a private hospital here, where doctors declared him dead. A team from the Chohla Sahib police station rushed to the spot on receiving the information.Atma had retired from Punjab Roadways and was working as a travel agent. The police have handed over the body to doctors for a post-mortem at the Civil Hospital in Tarn Taran. The deceased is survived by his wife, daughter and two sons.
