Another AAP MLA, Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy, has landed in a controversy after a Jalalabad-based woman alleged harassment by him over the purchase of a closed school building located opposite his residence.In a video message, the woman, identified as Stuti, claimed she had purchased land housing a defunct school situated across the Fazilka-Ferozepur road, facing the MLA’s newly constructed house, on the outskirts of Jalalabad.While the school building lies on one side of the road, the MLA’s residence is situated on the other.Stuti alleged that after the deal was finalised, property prices increased, following which she and her family were asked to cancel the agreement as the MLA allegedly intended to purchase the building. She further claimed they were threatened and later, she and her brother were even implicated in a “false case”. Her brother, Gagan Chawla — recently promoted from Assistant Sub-Inspector at an NRI police station in Mohali to Sub-Inspector — is currently undergoing training.The woman also alleged that on April 18, around 18-20 police personnel, including some SHOs, visited her residence and threatened her husband in her absence.Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa, in a statement posted on X, accused the ruling party of misuse of power. He alleged that after a previous controversy involving Laljit Singh Bhullar, this was another instance in which an MLA had attempted to forcibly occupy land and, upon resistance, ensured registration of false cases against innocent individuals.When contacted, Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy denied all allegations, stating he had neither harassed anyone nor attempted to purchase the land. He maintained that the dispute pertains to the current buyer and the previous owners, and he had no connection with the matter.It is said that this particular land has remained embroiled in controversies for over a decade.
