He swapped the original engine for a supercharged BMW 4.6is V8 engine with a BMW 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The ex-Leeds Utd and Wimbledon ace also replaced the back seats with a single seat from a Bentley Continental so he could be driven around in luxury.

The project, carried out by world renowned car restorers Squire Editions, featured in the Discovery+ series Vinnie Jones in the Country in 2023 as he created what he called: “My 110 dream machine.”

Vinnie told viewers: “This has been my idea and I have been like a dog with a bone with it.”
The car is now being sold for £150,000 by Hampshire-based luxury motor dealer Senzati.
Senzati boss Dave Clark said: “Vinnie described it as possibly the best Land Rover in the world and when you see it, it’s hard to argue with him.
“Every single component is the best it could be and he spent about £250,000 making it into the vehicle he’d dreamt of.
“Whenever you drive it, you find other Land Rover drivers flashing their lights when they meet you, it’s as well-known and eye-catching as that.
“The sound of the engine itself is enough to turn people’s heads when you go by.
“Vinnie had his own Bentley seat put in the back, which has his signature. We’ve taken that out and replaced it with three luxury seats in the back which Defenders usually have.
“However if a Vinnie fan wanted to buy the car and wanted the Bentley seat put back in we’d happily do that for them.
“It must have been quite a wrench for him to let it go but I think there will be plenty of people who would love to own it, there’s really nothing else like it in the world.”
