Days after appointing Ashok Lahiri as the new vice chairman of government think tank NITI Aayog, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today approved the appointment of two more leaders as full-time members of the body.R Balasubramaniam, member, HR, Capacity Building Commission, engaged in powering PM’s favourite Mission Karamyogi project through digital training of India’s central and state civil bureaucracy, has been named a full-time member.Balasubramaniam, who earlier wrote “Power Within: The Leadership Legacy of Narendra Modi,” a book that captures PM Modi’s leadership journey, has been associated with the Capacity Building Commission, which the PM conceived and set up in 2021.Balasubramaniam is the brain behind the Karmayogi Competency Framework developed by the Capacity Building Commission. This framework now forms the basis of courses and workshops government’s training academies including the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy Of Administration in Mussoorie will offer. The second appointment as a full-time NITI Aayog member is Joram Aniya, a distinguished academic and public figure from Arunachal Pradesh.Aniya is Head of the Department of Hindi at Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) in Itanagar. An accomplished academician, Associate Professor, and member of the Arunachal Pradesh Private Educational Regulatory Commission, she has over 18 years of experience in teaching, research and public policy engagement.Notably, she is the first woman from the Nyishi community to earn a PhD and the first in Hindi language in the state, with significant contributions to literature, culture, and indigenous knowledge systems. She has authored and edited many books on Nyishi literature and culture, along with numerous research publications. The development is significant at a time when China continues to needle India on Arunachal Pradesh by continuing to rename parts of Arunachal which is claims as its territory.India has firmly rejected all such Chinese attempts and said Arunachal was and is an inalienable part of India.
