The Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu issued his first statement on the performance of BJP in West Bengal, saying that it would now be “takhta palat” in Punjab, as people here have also made their minds to get a change for betterment of the state. He said that the people in Punjab are quiet as many are scared due to cases being registered against those who oppose, however, many have made their minds to vote for the BJP and on the day of voting, it would be BJP in Punjab.Speaking to The Tribune over the phone, Bittu said,” The West Bengal results reflect the larger situation in the state, alleging the presence of mafia networks, drug activity and widespread illegal land and sand mining.”“But there was a regime change there, and now it’s Punjab’s turn. People are fed up with these issues. Why is the BJP rising? It is because we have only one agenda, which is development.”He further claimed that such politics is driven by agenda, accusing several state governments of engaging in blame games and targeting the BJP and the Centre instead of addressing their own shortcomings. According to him, people have begun to see through this and are now prioritising development as a path to progress. He added that the party’s performance in West Bengal has boosted the morale of its cadre and is likely to lead to an upward trend in the coming days.
