Omar Majed, 19, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today but was hauled out of court after 10 minutes following an outburst.

The court heard how thousands of fans had to be evacuated after the teenager allegedly “barged” his way into the arena without a ticket.

Prosecutor Ros Buttler told the court that Majed was alleged to have indicated to a police constable and others that a bomb may have been left at the venue.

The alleged hoax had “serious repercussions” at an event with an expected crowd of almost 13,000 people, she added.

The charge against Majed alleges that he communicated to a police officer and others information, which he knew or believed to be false, that a bomb was present in the arena.

During the hearing Majed was taken down to the cells after shouting that the proposed bail conditions were not acceptable.

District Judge Smith, appearing in court via a video-link, made several requests for Majed to sit down before he was taken down just 11 minutes into the first apperance.

Majed gave no indication of plea and the hearing was adjourned after the judge refused a bail application.

He will appear before Birmingham Crown Court on June 1.

Peter Kay was rushed from the stage during his Midlands show as cops ordered the packed crowd to leave the venue, which can seat 15,000 spectators.

Police swooped on the arena after reports of a potentially suspicious bag being found inside.

West Midlands Police later confirmed that nothing dangerous was discovered following searches of the venue.
