Actor Surya Sharma says he is often typecast in grey and intense roles after the success of the crime thriller series Undekhi, but he has no complaints. “People are still coming to me keeping in mind that I can play intense characters well, and maybe not a lover boy. But I’m okay with it. It’s not in my hands to convince them — I just want to do the best I can,” he says.The actor earned widespread recognition for his portrayal of the volatile Rinku in Undekhi, a performance that has been widely praised for its intensity and unpredictability. Sharma says the success of the series has been a turning point in his career. The actor, who has reprised his role of Rinku in the fourth season, says that audience validation has been huge. “We all can’t just say we are actors — the validation comes from the audience. I’m hopeful that more people will watch it and give me good work, this is what I can wish for.”
