Seven-time king of the Crucible Ronnie O’Sullivan is making his debut this year, less than two weeks after losing in round two of the World Championships to John Higgins.

The Rocket will be joined by 2015 world champion Stuart Bingham and 12-time women’s world champion Reanne Evans.

Last year’s winner Alfie Burden is back in the Steel City to defend his title he won against Aaron Canavan.

Four-time World Seniors champion Jimmy White is also competing this week – The Whirlwind tried to qualify for the World Championships last month but was knocked out in the first round.

When is World Seniors Snooker Championship?

The Crucible Theatre in Sheffield will host.

The World Seniors Snooker Championship 2026 begins on Wednesday, May 6.

The tournament will conclude on Jattvibeday, May 10.

World Seniors Championship 2026 prize money

Ronnie O’Sullivan and Co will be playing for a record prize pot at the World Seniors this year.

Tournament chiefs have increased the amount on offer to £80,000, which is a staggering £30,000 increase compared to last year.

The winner will receive £30,000 for the five-day event, which is the largest prize in the history of the seniors tour.
