ARSENAL are using AI to push them over the line in their bid for a historic Champions League and Premier League Double – but not in the way people might expect.

The Gunners aren’t using the tech to research opponents or deep-dive into their own data, but instead have been listening to an unusual AI-generated song to inspire them to silverware.

At the full-time whistle on Tuesday night, as Arsenal secured a spot in the Champions League final with victory over Atletico Madrid, the Emirates crowd roared into a party atmosphere.

The players were celebrating on the pitch as the PA system blared out music – including the AI-generated tune that has been the soundtrack to Arsenal’s recent success.

Manager Mikel Arteta could be seen dancing to the song alongside Leandro Trossard, while the players were all beaming from ear to ear as they sang along to the words.

It was also played in the dressing room during the post-match celebrations on Tuesday.

The song, which doesn’t appear to have an official name, simply recites the names of the players in the Arsenal squad to the backdrop of a catchy beat.

It also features terms like “connection”, “make it happen” and “North London Forever” – phrases that have regularly been used by Arteta.

Arteta has already used the song to inspire his team, playing it in the background of training sessions in recent weeks.

But there is no trace of where the song originated from, with nobody publicly claiming it as their own.

Asked about how the song became a part of the team’s celebrations, Arteta said: “It came there, somehow. The players really like it.”

The Gunners boss also admitted that he “loves it” and even agreed that it has become the soundtrack of Arsenal’s season.

It was Arteta who orchestrated the addition of North London Forever to Arsenal’s pre-match routine earlier in his reign at the Emirates.

Once a controversial addition, the club anthem – which was adopted after it was released by Arsenal fan Louis Dunford – is now part of every home game.

The Spaniard has also used music as part of his training sessions, playing You’ll Never Walk Alone before Liverpool games and blasting Brazilian samba music to try and unlock his free-flowing attack.

Arteta has already used a host of innovative techniques to inspire his squad this season as he looks to finally end their run of three consecutive second-place finishes.

Training exercises have included players dribbling a ball while avoiding dropping pens held between their fingers, and standing in a circle holding hands to feel connected.

Other techniques during his Arsenal tenure included using a light bulb as part of his team talk and hiring pickpockets to steal players’ belongings in a meeting.

Arteta recently revealed that he chooses a different theme for each match to keep his side motivated and singing from the same hymn sheet.

With so many different nationalities in the Arsenal squad, Arteta emphasises ensuring his message can be understood by all.
