French forward Tel turned from hero to villain after he booted the Leeds ace in the head – having put Spurs 1-0 up with his brilliant finish earlier on.

Tel, 21, had given his side a vital lead which if they had held on to it would have virtually secured the club’s spot in the Premier League.
But Leeds fought back and as the striker tried to clear the ball with an audacious overhead kick, he caught the Welshman’s face.
Spurs fans were left fuming at the decision as they claimed that Ampadu was not even touched by the flailing boot.
One posted: “Leeds 1st and only goal was a penalty where Tel doesn’t touch Ampadu.”

A second wrote: “Just watched the replay. At most he barely grazes him, but Ampadu grabs the top of his head.”
A third commented: “No chance he hit the top of his head, which shows you that Ampadu was trying to make the ref think he got hit.”

Referee Jarred Gillett initially refused to point to the spot until VAR intervened.
The official was sent to the monitor to reassess the incident and saw enough to award Leeds a penalty.
Striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin converted to see the game finish in a 1-1 draw.
Ampadu, 25, proved that he had not feigned the injury as he was interviewed after the match.

The midfielder could be seen with a massive wound on the side of his forehead.
The red mark left little doubt that he had indeed been caught by Tel’s boot.
Leeds shared a close-up of the picture on social media with a jibe aimed at the Tottenham fans.
The caption sarcastically quoted the disgruntled supporters saying, “Doesn’t touch him”.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the resulting penalty
The Premier League released a statement on the challenge to provide the view of the officials.
It read: “After VAR review, the referee overturned the original decision of no penalty to Leeds.
“Referee announcement: ‘After review, Tottenham number 11 commits a foul on the Leeds attacker. The final decision is penalty kick’.”
Ampadu shone throughout the game in North London as he was awarded the Player of the Match award at full-time.
