The mum-of-two had sex with the victim on at least 15 occasions and sent him a number of “sexually charged” messages declaring her love.

She also met up with the boy at a pub and spent the night in a hotel with him.

Bardsley was automatically freed from prison on licence in February 2024 half-way through her sentence.

As part of her Sex Offenders Register conditions, she was required to reconfirm her details once a year at the local police station.

But she has was arrested after she was 15 days later in confirming her details in December last year.

Bardsley has now pleaded guilty to failing to comply with notification requirements at Tameside Magistrates’ Court.

The mum was fined £80 and ordered to pay £117 in costs and surcharge.

Defence solicitor Sonya O’Brien told the court Bardsley has lost her job as a care worker following her conviction for sexual activity with a child and is now on Universal Credit as a result.

She added: “I am pleased to report that there are no other matters pending. On this occasion her licence requirements simply slipped her mind.

“She made her way to the police station where she completed the registration, albeit late. She was told charges would follow in relation to the breach. It is as simple as that.”

Bardsley embarked on the illicit relationship with the boy during the Covid lockdown in June 2020 despite knowing he had a number of complex vulnerabilities and needs.

When he was on his summer holiday, she wrote him a string of love letters and also Googled the search terms “unprotected sex” and “morning after pill.”

On one occasion, a neighbour spotted the pair kissing through as kitchen window.

The relationship was discovered when the boy’s mum found the letters while cleaning his bedroom.

He initially declined to talk about the romance but later confessed after Bardsley became jealous when he started dating a 17-year old girl.

Even after her arrest, Bardlsey kept hounding the boy and acquired a mobile while being held on remand in jail so she could continue messaging him begging him to ”stick by her.”

In a statement to police, the boy’s mother told how she had seen a ”change” in her son’s behaviour and said the consequences of her discovering the relationship had been ”devastating.”

Bardsley pleaded guilty to two counts of non-penetrative sexual activity with a child, two counts of penetrative sexual activity with a child, harassment of a child and using an illicit mobile phone in prison.

She was jailed for six years at Minshull Street Crown Court and received a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will be required to sign the Sex Offender Register for life.
