NOTTINGHAM FOREST star Elliot Anderson has paid an emotional tribute to his late mum after being selected for this summer’s World Cup.
Anderson has had a great season for Forest, being influential to their Premier League survival and outstanding Europa League campaign.

While the midfielder has had an outstanding season on the pitch, he has had to deal with the loss of his mother Helen.
Helen passed away suddenly in April after a battle with cancer.
The England international has honoured his mother since her passing and even dedicated a goal in her memory against Newcastle.
He’s now posted a beautiful message after being named in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.

Anderson took to Instagram after the announcement and said: “Wow! Something I have dreamt of my whole life.
“Going to my first World Cup with England is my proudest moment yet. The hard work and dedication is paying off.
“I couldn’t have got to this point without the huge support from my family.
“Mum we are going to the World Cup.”

The post included pictures of himself as a small child in an England kit.
Anderson has played all of Forest’s 37 league matches this season and has been one of the most consistent players in the Premier League.
He made his England debut at Villa Park when the Three Lions beat Andorra in a World Cup qualifier in September.
Now he is gearing up to represent his country and his family name on the world stage.

His England teammates have also shown their support for Anderson as they prepare for a massive summer hoping to bring football home once again.
Marcus Rashford put a heart emoji on his post while Declan Rice replied: “Let’s goooo”.
Since being first selected for England in September, Anderson has started in six of his seven appearances for the Tuchel’s Three Lions.
