The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has admitted to discrepancies after two students on X highlighted the mix up of Physics and Chemistry answer sheets during the re-evaluation process.Vedant, a student, alleged that the Physics answer sheet uploaded under his roll number during the board’s re-evaluation process does not belong to him.Soon after, the student was called “Pakistani” and some users began questioning the authenticity of the account. However, on Monday, the CBSE acknowledged the discrepancy.“Dear Vedant, Thank you for bringing your concern regarding your Physics answer book to our attention. Upon review, the matter has been examined, and the correct copy of your answer book has been sent to your registered email address. We appreciate your patience and assure you of our continued support,” CBSE said on X.In a mail sent to Vedant, the Board said that the marks will be revised.Another similar case also surfaced on X involving a Chemistry answer sheet. In a post shared online, a student said CBSE had responded to their complaint and accepted the concern raised regarding the evaluation process.“The CBSE replied to our email and confirmed that our concern regarding the Chemistry answer sheet was valid. Thank you to everyone who helped bring attention to this. Your support meant a lot. Waiting for the next steps from CBSE now,” the post read.Congress, AAP slam the CentreOn Monday, Congress and AAP Monday slammed the Centre over the CBSE Class 12 OSM marking system. Nearly 18.5 lakh students appeared for the CBSE Class 12 exams. However, for the past two weeks after the result declaration, complaints regarding OSM discrepancies, incorrect marking and technical glitches have surfaced.“The Modi-Shah duo has turned yet another institution into a symbol of rigging. A 17-year-old boy, whose answer sheet was wrongly evaluated, turned to social media in hope of justice. But instead of help, he got abuse—BJP’s IT cell branded him an “Anti-National,” called him a “Soros agent,” a part of the “Deep State. A 17-year-old boy raises his voice for his future, and BJP turns him into a traitor,” Gandhi said on X.The Education Ministry on May 24 said that the CBSE will engage experts from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and IIT-Kanpur to address technical challenges in its post-result services portal.Congress general secretary in-charge of communications, Jairam Ramesh, said the CBSE introduced an On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for Class 12 board examinations, which has thrown into chaos the academic futures of lakhs of children across the country.“Now, the Education Minister, who has been leading the collapse of the entire institutional framework, has finally awakened more than a week after this tragedy came to light. They are now roping in IIT Kanpur to resolve these technical issues and positioning themselves as some kind of savior. The real question is: why weren’t these problems anticipated earlier? Why didn’t the CBSE and the ministry devise a careful plan before adopting the OSM system? Why did it take the minister so long to respond to this issue?” Ramesh asked.Kejriwal also claimed that lakhs of students across the country were being subjected to mental trauma due to repeated failures in the education system. He demanded the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s immediate resignation.“The massive irregularities in CBSE evaluation have plunged the future of lakhs of children into darkness. First NEET and now CBSE. Pradhan does not deserve to be the education minister for even a day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should immediately remove Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan,” Kejriwal said in a video message posted on X.
