THREE popular TV channels will be closing for good today, including one that has been on air for over a decade.

This comes as part of Sky‘s gradual shutdown of various satellite channels in its network.

Boomerang HD, That’s TV 2 and That’s 20th Century will all end their satellite coverage from today.

Only Boomerang HD will remain accessible to viewers, available to members on Sky Glass or Stream.

Sky has been actively phasing out its satellite infrastructure since the end of last year, when its flagship satellite box, Sky Q, was pulled from online sales.

Now, current satellite users are being encouraged to transition towards internet-based or broadband connected streaming methods, such as Sky Glass.

Included in the list of pulled channels is Boomerang HD, a high-definition version of the long-standing children’s channel.

The Cartoon Network spin-off channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery has been airing shows such as Scooby-Doo and Tom and Jerry since 2000.

Now, Boomerang HD will be unavailable on Satellite 603, however, Boomerang SD will remain and replace it.

That’s TV 2 and That’s 20th Century, however, will be closed permanently from today, and inaccessible to the public.

Hailed as the home of iconic TV from the past 50 years, That’s TV 2 shows an array of classics such as Mr Bean and Ashes to Ashes.

The channel was only launched in January 2024 on Satellite 181, replacing That’s 70s.

That’s 20th Century also launched recently on Satellite 183, replacing That’s 60s back in February 2023.

Now, the channel shows a mix of popular programmes, such as Life on Mars and Till Death Us Do Part, and the best of 60s music.

All channels listed, as of today, are now unavailable for satellite broadcast in the UK.
