A MAJOR UK city is set to get its very own Costco warehouse mega-store – and builders say it will be ready by spring 2027.
Construction firm RG Carter is building a 139,900 sq ft site at Broadland Business Park in Postwick.

It will be the American retail giant’s first location in East Anglia, with Norwich chosen as the site.
The enormous warehouse will stock everything from groceries and electricals to clothing, homeware and leisure products, and will also feature a bakery, a butchers, a food court and walk-in refrigeration areas — all under one roof.
Shoppers can also look forward to a members-only filling station offering fuel that typically undercuts supermarket prices by several pence per litre.
Costco bosses have so far stopped short of confirming an exact opening date, saying timings can be affected by construction schedules and other requirements.

But with builders targeting a spring 2027 completion, Norwich residents could be filling their trolleys – and their tanks – before the end of next year.
Paul Landen, from Costco, said: “We are pleased to be starting construction on our first warehouse in East Anglia.
“The site at Broadland Business Park offers excellent access for our members and supports our continued expansion in the UK.
“We are also committed to working with experienced local partners wherever possible, and RG Carter’s strong presence in the region reflects that approach.”
The store will operate on a membership-only basis, with individual Gold Star membership currently priced at £42 a year.
Business memberships start from £30 annually.
Members get access to Costco’s famously low prices on bulk goods, as well as its legendary food court, where a hot dog and soft drink combo has been fixed at just £1.50 since 1993.
The new Norwich store will be a welcome relief for locals who currently have to travel a punishing 100 miles to the nearest Costco in Stevenage if they want to shop there.
The new site is expected to create a minimum of 160 permanent jobs.
Costco currently operates 29 warehouses across the UK.
