Panic gripped the District Courts Complex in Bathinda on Tuesday after authorities received an email threatening to blow up the court premises. Following the threat, the Bathinda police swung into action and tightened security across the complex. As a precautionary measure, police teams conducted an intensive search of the entire premises. Public movement inside the complex was restricted.Advocate Gulshandeep Singh Sidhu, vice-president of District Bar Association, Bathinda, said, “Immediate action was taken in accordance with security protocols after the threat email was received. Various sections of the court complex, including parking areas, offices, and public spaces, were thoroughly checked. All entry and exit gates, except two, were closed.”DSP Arun Mundan said, “Nothing suspicious was found during the preliminary search. An investigation has been initiated to trace the sender of the email. The cyber cell has been tasked with identifying the source of the threat and tracking the persons responsible.”
