He was found guilty of inflicting grievous bodily harm and was sentenced to five years in prison on Friday.

Detective Constable Emma Oram said: “This was a violent assault with a knife and, while it left the victim with significant injuries, the consequences could have been far worse and even fatal.

“We are committed to raising awareness of the dangers of knife crime and taking robust action against anyone responsible for offences of this nature.

“Thanks to our comprehensive investigation, we were able to track down the defendant when he had left the county and ensure he was held to account for his crimes.”

The court heard that Moore, of Weymouth, was walking down a communal staircase at a property in Sturminster when he came face to face with the woman.

The victim, who he was familiar with, was kicked in the face by Moore.

Following the attack, her friend, a man in his 30s, confronted Moore and an altercation broke out.

The knifeman stabbed the male with what is believed to be a four-inch lock knife.

The victim was rushed to hospital with three stab wounds to his body and arm.

Moore fled the scene on foot before officers began to hunt down the knifeman.

After days of detailed work, officers were able to locate Moore at a hotel in Hampshire on October 2, 2025.

He was found to have dyed his blonde hair black in an attempt to conceal his identity.

During his trial, he was found guilty of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and assault by beating.

On his return to court on June 5, he was jailed for five years.
