Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, has secured the top spot among the 67 state agricultural and horticultural universities and second rank nationwide among all institutions in the domain in the recently released International Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF).Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, has secured the second rank among veterinary universities across the country and fifth among the universities and research institutes overall.This marks the second consecutive year that PAU has led all state agricultural universities in the IIRF and same goes with GADVASU as well.“Our university has outranked every major state agricultural institution in the country. Among state-funded agricultural universities, none ranks higher. In the national hierarchy, PAU has been placed just behind the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi,” said PAU VC Dr Satbir Singh Gosal.GADVASU Vice-Chancellor Dr JPS Gill expressed pride in having achieved the milestone. He described it as a “collective victory”, highlighting the dedication, hard work and innovative spirit of the entire university staff and students.Gosal hailed the achievement as a proud moment for the university and the state. The credit, he said, should go to every person in the PAU ecosystem: Faculty, scientists, students, staff, alumni and the farmers who have stood with the university through decades. PAU’s mission, he affirmed, remained unchanged: To lead Indian agriculture through rigorous research, transformative education and real-world outreach.
