A Panipat man shot dead two men — his uncle at Dera Bassi in Punjab’s Mohali and then his friend at Panipat – on Wednesday.The accused first killed his uncle and carried the body in a Tata Safari, then killed his friend and threw the bodies near a canal in Samalkha in Panipat before fleeing the spot.The Special Anti-Gangster Unit of Sonepat Police nabbed the accused near Bhigan Toll Plaza on National Highway-44 at midnight and handed him over to Panipat Police. Punjab Police also reached there.The bodies have been sent to Civil Hospital, Panipat, for post-mortem.The deceased have been identified as 45-year-old Rahul Malik, who had a business in Dera Bassi, and 25-year-old Ankush of Panipat. The accused has been identified as Sahil Malik of Model Town, Panipat.Sahil murdered his uncle, Rahul Malik, allegedly owing to a property dispute.Sahil went to his uncle’s office in Dera Bassi on Wednesday evening and shot him dead. Another man who was injured in the incident was admitted to hospital.After murdering him, he carried the body in the Tata Safari and went to Panipat. Meanwhile, Dera Bassi Police shared the GPS location and vehicle details with Haryana Police.On reaching Panipat, Sahil called his friend Ankush near a canal. After having an altercation with Ankush, Rahul shot him dead, threw the bodies there, and fled towards Delhi.The Sonepat police after getting information about the murder in Dera Bassi nabbed the accused.ACP (Headquarters) Ajeet Singh said the police led by Inspector Ajay Dhankar nabbed the accused and handed him over to Panipat Police.
