Sitting AAP Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh, who is also a real estate developer, has slapped a legal notice upon the Chief Administrator of GMADA for allegedly damaging the reputation of realty firms, by branding it as defaulter of Rs 152 crore. The MLA is a partner in Janta Land Promoters Pvt Ltd (JLPL).A few days ago, the GMADA Chief Administrator had written to the estate officer not to further approve projects of nearly 30 promoters, who have allegedly been found defaulting on payment of government dues to the tune of over Rs 1,000 crore.Among the main defaulters, GMADA list showed Bajwa Developers owing over Rs 500 crore alone, followed by Janta Land Promoters, which owes nearly Rs 152 crore. However, Kulwant Singh said there was a Supreme Court stay in the case. The defaulters list also names the realtors who are under the scanner of the enforcement directorate (ED).According to the legal notice, the JLPL said despite Supreme Court orders, GMADA shall not stall any process initiated by the petitioner on the ground that the demand notice, which is the subject matter of this litigation, the authority issued a memo terming it as a defaulter.
